Day 1 – Flight to Bordeaux and trip to Re Island

Donkeys in pants are symbols of Re Island. For centuries they were used to transport salt and gather seaweed during low tides. To save them from insect’s   bites people started to dress them into pants. As the legend tells us, this firstly happened in Ars en Re town. One kind countrywoman dressed donkey’s legs into her husband’s shirt sleeves. Later other villagers followed her example. Male donkeys have striped pants and females have checkered ones. Today they are just tourist attraction. But pants are not the only unique thing about donkeys here. They have long, shaggy hair. This brood is called Puatu. They are very rare and are often called mammoth donkeys.

Day 2 – Trip to La Roshel

Old Harbor is situated in the middle of narrow bay. Its three towers are often considered the symbol of the city. Due to this harbor the city played important strategic role during 100-year war and American expansion.

Day 3 – Travel to Bordeaux

La Concha – Saint-Sebastian’s city beach. It is considered one of the best city beaches in Spain and in the world. The beach is situated in La Concha bay. That is where its name comes from. It has the length of 1.5 km.

Day 7 – Time off in Biarritz
